In keeping with the early camp meeting models, we have planned a single solid week of Camp Meeting. In the early days there were one or two weeks set aside in the middle of the summer, which were really the few weeks between haying seasons, to grow a deeper spiritual life through the Camp Meeting.
This 2020 Season has a title of COME ALIVE and we are looking forward to the full week striving to do just that. Everything will take place outside, with masks, social distancing, and any other state mandated recommendations at that time. Unfortunately, no food will be served and no gatherings of more than 10 can take place on grounds, except 25 for Tabernacle events, as of this writing.
- Saturday, July 25th at 7 PM in the Tabernacle – Come Alive Concert
- Sunday, July 26th at 7PM in the Tabernacle – Draw the Circle : prayer emphasis with Jackie Barycki leading us and Simon James sharing music.
- Monday, July 27 thru July 30 at 10 AM in Tabernacle – Study of Colossians led by Betty Purchase (topic chosen by Women’s Tuesday Bible Study group.)
- Monday, July 27 thru July 30 at 7 PM in the Tabernacle – Reforesting Your Faith led by Dan Ziegler. Music will be lead by Dan and as well as Simon James. Dan is a cottager and comes to us with a vast experience in camp and conferences. He is presently Director of a large United Methodist Retreat and Conference Center in Minnisota. He and the family have also served for many years as Director of Blue Ridge Ministries in Haiti. The book Reforesting your Faith will be available.
- Friday, July 31 and Saturday, Aug 1 at 10 AM in the Tabernacle – Saints Alive! Bible Study led by Richard Purchase. He celebrated his 56th Anniversary of Ordination in June and has not stopped in ministry in all those years.
- Friday, July 31 at 7PM at Hilltop – Coffee House Concert with Wendy Schettig. She is a singer, song writer and we will be refreshed through her music.
- Saturday, Aug. 1 at 7:30 PM – Walk Around tradition or as some old camp meetings call it, Illumination Night. We are privileged to invite back one of our Camp Meeting favorites, Jean Watson. Jean brings a wealth of musical talent, playing the violin, with much of her own music, but also a special passionate testimony. All cottagers are to put candles out along the paths and in the circles. Time will be given during the concert to light the candles. Then the camp bell is rung by the Trustees for the last time this season.
- Sunday, Aug 2 at 11 AM in the Tabernacle – Worship led by Richard and Betty Purchase
- Sunday, Aug 2 at 1 PM in the Tabernacle – Cottager’s Annual Meeting, an abbreviated meeting, and masks are required. A quorum is needed.
Join us for as much as you can this week, and be ready to “Come Alive!” in Christ during this time of encouragement, teaching, and refreshment at this historic Camp Meeting.
