We are coming into the 155th Camp Meeting at Brandywine Summit Camp Meeting. Our theme for 2020/21 is Come Alive. This year we Come Alive with the Promises of God. In the early days of the camp a “party” would be brought in by the Trustees and they would provide all the leadership during the week. It was an exciting time as the campers looked forward to a week of music, prayer, teaching and preaching. They were coming to grow deeper spiritually, study in order to return to their home churches to participate in church leadership and to be refreshed by taking time alone with the Lord. There was also a strong emphasis on the message of Salvation and Redemption. Being at camp meant that they were ready to Come Alive. This year we continue that tradition in many ways. During the week there will be at least 18 people providing the leadership, including music, teaching and preaching, with the Trustees as hosts.

The morning Bible Studies (at 10AM) will use parts of Max Lucado’s book “Unshakeable Hope: building our lives on the Promises of God”. Looking at Matthew 7, where the story is told of the two men who built new houses. One built on sand and one built on rock. Apparently, the structures were much the same, but when the rain came the one built on sand collapsed. The issue wasn’t the structure, it had to do with the foundation. We will consider the foundations of our faith and God’s Promises in regard to that.
In the past we have Worshiped together during Camp Meeting Week and this year Ezequiel and Mildred Hernandez will lead us on July 25 at 10 AM and on August 1 at 11 AM, Paul Foster will lead us.
Preaching Services each evening (at 7PM) will include a mini concert. Some new musicians will be a part of the week. A different cottage Pastor will preach most nights. There will be some favorite singing groups coming again this year. Harps to Halos, The Rockdale Boys, violinist Jean Watson returning for Walk Around, are all a part of our week together.
Our last weekend will include Pastor Paul Foster who will teach the Friday and Saturday morning Bible Studies and preach for our closing Worship Service. He will center his teaching and message on Ecclesiastes.
Covered Dish Dinners will be in Biddle Hall on both Saturdays at 5 PM, however we have a number of vulnerable, immune system challenged people on grounds and we ask that masks be worn inside the building. All programing will be in the Tabernacle under the open air fans.
Join us for as much as you can this week, and be ready to “Come Alive!” in Christ during this time of encouragement, teaching, and refreshment at this historic Camp Meeting.
